Anchor Hocking started its operations in Lancaster, OH in 1905.  Its unique hallmark is a capital H overlaying the outline of an anchor.  The company grew significantly following the 1929 stock market crash through its development of a machine that could produce 90 pieces of blown glass per minute.  Its ability to produce high quantities of commercial glass allowed it to survive the Great Depression and become a leader in U.S. glass manufacturing.  Anchor Hocking continues to produce glassware today.
