The Paden City Glass Manufacturing Company opened in Paden City, WV in 1916 focusing on creating blank, hand-blown and hand-pressed wares which they sold to other companies that decorated their glassware with intricate designs. Paden City stood out from the other glassware companies as they also produced a wide-variety of unique, creatively named colored glass. The company’s operations were highly successful.  They purchased the American Glass Company  which eventually led to their demise.  The additional financial burden of their expansion caused the company to close in 1951.
