Aldo Tura (1909-1963) was an Italian furniture craftsman. In the 1930s, be began his work creating intricate furniture designs using unique materials. Tura is most famous for his use of lacquered goatskin and complex, labor-intensive work. Even as the world began to switch to mass-production, Tura prefered to produce items that were so intricate they were not able to be replicated with a large factory system, making many of his items rare or difficult to find today. Much of his work included bars that ranged from carts to large cabinets. He also produced lacquered goatskin bar accessories including cocktail shakers, ice buckets, and trays.
